I was in the mood to create something beautiful and feminine recently, and this pink lotus flower artwork is what emerged. To me it is both delicate and bold, warm and inviting with a barely contained energy and such an uplifting feel to it.
This was such a fun piece of artwork to create that I wanted to expand the series. I am thrilled to announce that renowned flower photographer Steven Schwartzman has agreed to allow me to turn a few of his amazing flower portraits into works of art. His photographs are works of art in their own right, too! I can’t wait to put my own artistic spin on his wildflowers and see what happens. As I complete each piece, I’ll post the finished artwork along with the inspiring wildflower photograph here so you can follow along on this unique artistic collaboration. Stay tuned!
P.S. I also learn something every time I create a new piece. Did you know that in Buddhist symbolism, the lotus represents purity of the body, speech, and mind as if floating above the muddy waters of attachment and desire? Now you do! 🙂
P.P.S. If you fall in love with this artwork, fine art prints are available. I think it would look perfect in a little girl’s room! (My own daughter prefers Pokemon at the moment – lol!)
